Fruit Waffle Cones! A Healthy Summer Treat!

When you think waffle cone you tend to think if a big ice cream cone topped and an abundance of toppings.  This is, if course,  a delicious treat but sometimes we want to give our kids healthier options to beat the heat.

Give these Fruit Waffle Cones a try. You can make them with any type of fruit you choose but fresh berries are the best. You can also use yogurt, light whipped topping or both.  The options are endless and, if you're planning a party,  why not incorporate a fruit waffle cone bar and let your guests make their own version with a table of toppings to choose from. Below is my recipe but feel free to change it up. These are a hit with the young and old alike!

Fruit Waffle Cones
--waffle cones
--fresh berries (raspberries,  blueberries,
    blackberries & sliced strawberries)
--plain Greek yogurt
--light whipped topping
--sliced almonds

1.  Grab a waffle cone and layer yogurt & berries.  End with a layer of berries on top.

2. Add a dollop of light whipped topping and sprinkle with sliced almonds.

3. Eat & enjoy!
